Together with my wife I spent the last two weeks traveling the garden route in SA. We rented a car in Cape Town and drove our way east to Port Elizabeth and back. One of the main reasons we came to SA is obviously the possibility to spot majestic animals on their wild habitat and we were lucky enough to decide to spend two nights in the game reserve of Hartenbosh. We booked the glamping tent and I have to say we were not prepared for the level of luxury and comfort we found. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom luxurious and complete with a super comfortable shower, towels and everything you may need. Also the cooking facilities are absolutely spot on but the most incredible feature is the unobstructed view on the reserve. At any moment different animals can show up right in front of you while you’re cooking, eating or enjoying a coffee or a glass of wine..only a fence separates them out for security. We did two safaris with Wayne, he is super passionate about his animals and he was extremely interesting to listen to as he’s obviously very knowledgeable and eager to share his knowledge with his guests. We spotted many amazing animals..giraffes, white rhinos, springboks, zebras, even a hippo showed up to say hi:)
All in all is an extreme good deal to spend at least two nights in this great paradise Wayne and Alida built up for their guests and we are so happy we did.
Very much recommended to anyone comes to SA.

Beautiful experience in several ways: The accommodation is a tent with two beds and a toilet in addition to an outdoor courtyard containing simple cooking utensils, oven and refrigerator, an external sitting and a barbecue place and the bathroom is fully equipped and the warm water is refreshing, and the beds are characterized by the availability of heating mattresses. There are different animals in front of the tent especially in the evening time, so the place is different amazing. The staff are friendly and the place feels intimate.

sleep in a tent of 4 with exceptional comfort by being directly in the reserve. we did a game drive in the establishment one morning which was really great, we saw lots of animals. we had a great time in Hartenbos Private game lodge!

Being in the beautiful African countryside, and whilst staying in quite luxurious accommodation (for me a very 5 star tent) you still felt a connection to the outdoors. The staff, and the owners, were super people, and made it feel like you were a member of the family. The game we saw exceeded my expectations

A great stay in a well-kept Game Reserve with really great hosts! Alida and Wayne really made our stay memorable. The food was good and the animals of the Game Reserve could be enjoyed with Wayne at close proximity and with great and fun information.

Enjoyed a tasty breakfast at a beautifully set table, with friendly service and then went on a wild drive. Beautiful scenery. We saw rhinos, different species of buck, zebras and giraffes. It was a special experience and strongly recommend it to all who is looking for an enjoyable outing.

We couldnt rate Hennie and Anettes hospitality higher. The accomodation (luxury tent for us) was impecible. Some tent! .it was glamping at its best. Every last need was catered for, and I especially apprectiated the fresh milk, it was perfect for a cuppa as we settled in. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her bath, looking through the tent flaps, out onto the veld.
Hennie (the owner) also does the game drives, so youre getting good information, straight from the horses mouth. At the time, we were the only guests, as it was early season, so he treated us as is if we were personal, long term friends. Ammo, as waiter was very attentive and the new chef was flexing his culinary muscles on us, and treated us to gorgeous dinner and breakfast the next morning. Such value for money....I'd definetly recommend the experience with the Hartenbos team.
